 How about allowing cloaked AP's information in
 .sugar/default/nm/networks.cfg ?

 When sugar/myNeighborhood scans for AP's, it also scans for the
 information as listed in networks.cfg . If it finds an active AP, then
 displays AP icon, inverts the current XO colors to allow disconnect.
 Keeps icon around during current session, so connect/reconnect can be done
 easily.
