 When downloading a standard document -- be it a pdf, djvu, or other file
 -- the Journal should recognize and store standard metadata, including a
 guessed title and author.  This is especially true for pdf's or djvu's of
 texts downloaded from library repositories.

 Better metadata helps with searching, sorting, selection from the journal,
 and remembrance of what one has done.  When this is not autogenerated from
 the file's metadata, it encourages meticulous users to spend an extra
 somewhat frustrating minute modifying the metadata by hand -- a
 process/interface which could also be made easier.
