 So, if I understand everyone's positions correctly, the last remaining
 infelicities are (a) the use of netfilter, and (b) the use of SO_MESH_TTL
 instead of a more general SO_LL_TTL.  If we want to eventually use a
 general SO_LL_TTL it might make sense to make the name change now so that
 userland code doesn't have to be updated later.  The use of netfilter
 seems like it can be tweaked in the future without affecting the basic
 idea of the patch or the way it is used in userland.

 Speaking for myself only, I think I'd rather see the SO_LL_TTL rename made
 sooner rather than later, if it's to be done, but I personally don't have
 a problem with committing the netfilter implementation now so we can start
 working on userland code, with the idea that the implementation can be
 swapped out for a more invasive 'struct sock' implementation later if
 upstream prefers it that way.
