Comment(by tomeu):

What about having a python library that uses hulahop to embed
xulrunner+pyxpcom and that provides Sugar services to JS applications
 running inside?

xulrunner could load the application from local files or through a
connection to a forked, local web server.

I have been hearing about the convenience of doing this for a long time,
but nobody has stepped forward. I don't see this as specially complicated,
specially since it can be done gradually and with the aggregated effort of
the many people that have shown interest on it. It is basically trimming
 down Browse.

If someone is waiting for one of the core Sugar developers to start
working on this, I'm afraid this won't happen soon. We have really little
time and this is not in any roadmap I have seen. We really miss much more
 fundamental features.

That said, we have quite a bit of experience on these technologies and I'm
sure the whole team is willing to help.

Also, some private emails have been forwarded to me around all this.
_Please_ use the public mailing lists. There are lots of people who could
help if they knew this is needed.

Manu, SJ, AFAIK you are the ones who have been in closer contact with
authors of JS activities. Can you start a public discussion about all
 this?
