 I recall discussing this idea at some point in the past.  I can't recall
 if there was a specific reason that we didn't implement it, as I think it
 could be a nice addition.

 Of course, while we're at it, I'll add a much more difficult proposal
 which we also had designs for, which was to internally tag sections of
 text with their author, so that a button in the view toolbar could toggle
 on/off highlighting of the text based upon who typed each part.  I think
 this would be a hugely useful addition to Write, especially with respect
 to collaborative reports (For instance, the teacher can easily see who
 contributed what to the final product).  Of course, it would just be fun
 in any case.

 I realize the latter is harder to do and requires some rethinking of the
 format, perhaps, but as long as we're discussing ways to evidence the
 individuals within the shared activity, why not...?
