 I'm in agreement on this point.  We need to do better to ensure
 consistency with palettes across views.  That said, I also expect their to
 be a section in the control panel for the network, which may include more
 detailed info such as you describe.  I don't think that level of detail is
 necessarily needed in the rest of the UI.
