behaviour, especially with the bug that causes it to be sometimes sticky
and sometimes not, depending on how you switch to Home. It also leads me
into a couple of bad sugar HCI behaviours:

a new activity, even though the frame is available everywhere

screen.

anyway. The animation is slow. The frame is way too easy to invoke via the
hot corners. Dismissing the frame is both too easy and too hard.
The entire purpose of the Frame is to provide a persistent interface
element accessible from anywhere. Tying it to Home just won't work. The
clipboard, for instance, needs to be accessible from any activity. The
new design of the Frame will also allow one to switch the active activity
(instead of launch new ones), see the other people they are collaborating
with, and view device status. All of these things are important to have
readily available and across all views/activities.
> Note that kids can totally ignore the donut. If they end up on some
random screen (because the frame popped up and got a random click) then
they will just start a second copy of the activity.

unnecessary activities from the frame, when I really should be switching
to the Journal and resuming (this leads to Journal bloat)

normal for a person to want to forget about their creation. The journal is
based on the wrong assumption that these normal desires are abnormal, even
when allowing for the terrifying idea of a journal that purposely eats
your work. The journal is thus continuously spammed with undesired junk,
even for actions as trivial as starting the wrong activity by mistake.)
Both of these are perfectly "normal." Others, in fact, have stated just
the opposite of what you have: that kids rarely intend to start a new
instance, and that resuming should be default. We've devised a new Home
screen which will cater to both of these desires, and which should
completely eliminate the problems that people have been having with the
Frame and its intended purpose.
That said, the title of this ticket still holds. Home should not be a
special case regarding the Frame and its visibility.
