 yum has a mechanisim that allows you to script installing packages

 for more info see http://skvidal.wordpress.com/2008/01/18/yum-on-the-xo/

 so we could put a hook in olpc-update that would install based on a script
 in users home dir. we could preserve the yum cache and need to download
 very little.
