Comment:

 Right, the fonts are not installed ( /usr/share/fonts ). On F8 I have the
 following fonts packages installed (if my infos are correct there have
 been a splitting of fonts packages for F8). Those seem sufficient to
 display those fonts right on the XO as well.

 chinese: cjkunifonts-uming: 20M
 japanese: sazanami-fonts-gothic: 7.2M
 Korean: baekmuk-ttf-fonts-gulim (baekmuk-ttf-fonts-common): 9.9M
 }}}

 Those font packages are quite big I guess that is why they are not
 included by default - sayamindu might have more insights.
