<cassidy> marcopg: I'd like to test if an activity is installed or not.
Any idea how to do that?
<marcopg> cassidy: we really need to discuss UI with eben
<marcopg> cassidy: the shell service has a registry dbus api
<marcopg> cassidy: I guess the ps could use it
 <marcopg> org.laptop.ActivityRegistry
<cassidy> marcopg: yeah but PS will have to announce the Voip capa anyway
<marcopg> cassidy: but does it really need to depend on a specific
 activity to be installed?
<marcopg> cassidy: the idea is that all activities should be replacable...
<cassidy> marcopg: we need to know "Have I an activity to manage incoming
 audio/video calls"
<marcopg> that's quite a difficult question to answer
<marcopg> it would require some sort of abstract activity categorization
<marcopg> what would be the problem with just enabling it by default?
 <marcopg> does it use resources?
<marcopg> also we might want support for a/v in the shell...
<cassidy> marcopg: incoming av calls will be lost as you won't have an
 activity to manage them
<cassidy> and it doesn't make sense as the goal of this capability is
really to say that you can handle calls
<marcopg> cassidy: mmm I tend to think video chat should be part of the
system somewhat (either by making it in the shell or by having a system
 activity which handles it)
<cassidy> marcopg: Do we already have mechanism in the shell/sugar to do
 that?
<marcopg> cassidy: nope, I don't think we even have a design yet
