 > My XO is about 80% full (lots of Linux experimentation). When I open up
the Record activity it gives me a big 'x' under the image and the message
 'Your disk is full'.

 > 1) How full triggers this message? I realize that video can grab storage
in large hunks, but this is still about 200Mb free.

The Record activity keeps 200000kb free on the disk. This was made in
response to xo's in the Trial-2 software evaluation crashing from getting
full (see #2192). This, in turn, led to #2655, then #5169.

For ship-1 and update-1 we selected a unilateral response of just
preventing all recordings once a threshold is passed.

 > 2) Even if you shut down video, it would seem that still or audio
 recording would still be practical.

A more nuanced response is needed: gaging the available space and
estimating needs based on the type of recording.

 > 3) As my son asked, "What disk?". The XO doesn't have a disk, and anyway
what would this message mean to a kid under a tree in Uganda?

The word choice disk should have been drive.

In update-2, we will have the option save recordings directly to internal
nand, USB stick, or SD Card (#4676).
