Comment(by gnu):
Where is this info available in the current UI? In update.1-690, and in
Ship.2, hovering over the wireless network connection (to an access point)
in the donut screen produces just: "SSID, Channel: 6, Disconnect button".
No info about IP address (or lack thereof) at all.
(Note: I'm using an access point, not mesh. People with access points
have the same trouble, determining where the problem with their
connectivity is.)
(Perhaps if I had a working mesh here, it would tell me. If I click on a
Mesh circle, it disconnects me from my access point. Then if I click on
the access point again, it tries to connect with both, and reports status
on the mesh: "Mesh Network 6, Looking for an XO Mesh Portal...".)
Use the Macintosh OSX control panel "Network Status" information as your
touchstone. There they
report, for each device, whether it's connected, what its IP addresses
are, and whether the address is self-assigned (ad-hoc without Internet
access) or actually connected to the Internet.
I do think it's counter-intuitive that the info we provide appears over
the WiFi circle in the donut screen, but not when hovering over the same
WiFi circle in the Network screen.
