 I formatted mine with ext3 with the same result.  XO slot reads
 consistently caused the XO to I/O error, while reading from USB card
 reader worked.  Mine happened to land on the Browse activity: while I do
 most things it runs fine, but when I launch Browse, it caused those
 errors.
