 I was using an old v. of browse.  checking again in v.95, the upload
 interface feels much better even if I remain frustrated in the end. half
 of the use cases above are resolved (filtering, usb keys).

 One still cannot upload anything from the local filesystem, including
 anything one might want to share or upload that came inside a bundle
 /resource-set that was acquired/downloaded.
 A related troublecase is a deeply nested or extensive filesystem on a usb
 key, which cannot be  neatly navigated with current journal interfaces.
