 Okay, you asked for it.  I have basically done the following in Terminal:
 {{{
 $ sudo /etc/init.d/ohmd stop
 $ sudo nohup ohmd --no-daemon --verbose &
 $ xset dpms 120 180 240
 }}}
 Then I dimmed my backlight and waited about two minutes until the
 screensaver blanked the screen.  Then I hit a key and it came back.  Then
 I fiddled with brightness to ensure it is at maximum (this fiddling step
 is important and shows a brightness glitch). Now I wait a minute to see if
 the bug is alive...  yes it is.  Now I let it happen a few times to feed
 the log file...

 there it is again... screen is dim... press brighten... wait again... etc
 etc.

 Enough. I think there are 3 dimmings/brightenings in the log.  Time to
 upload all this before the next crash.
