 joyride-2301.  See the attached screenshot.

 I want to see my battery status, but it never finishes drawing the bar
 graph or drawing the text to say % charge level. I waited several minutes,
 thinking maybe it was just slow.  The icon fill shows a reasonable level
 of charge (have been on battery about 30 minutes).

 It worked okay a few hours ago, but messed up after I had about 6
 activities launched (Terminal running top, Browse x 2, Firefox, Log
 viewer, plus Journal) stress testing. Performance was getting sluggish,
 and I routinely check My Battery to see how fast it pops up (I imagine it
 provides me some advance hint of impending freeze).  I was using AC power
 at the time, and battery was probably around 50% charged.

 I closed all running activities except this Browse, and Journal, and
 sluggishness is gone, but My Battery status display is still messed up.
 Chances of reproducing this bug again seem slim.
