 Single integer versioning for activities is limited and makes it difficult
 to know whether a version was released off master or a git branch (e.g. a
 stable release series like sucrose-0.82).

 Conversations around this included proposals for major.minor versioning as
 well as supporting the version strings that rpm supports, given that there
 exists code for sanity checking and ordering them.

 I haven't seen this taken further.
