Comment:

 Is that raw time or CPU time? I think the reason the KeyGrabber does a
 gdk_flush() for each of the grabs to be able to catch X errors. (ie. when
 some other application already has grabbed the key)

 But that means the time should be spent sleeping, waiting for the response
 from the X server.
