I am not a typical G1G1 users. I have upgraded to various candidate and
joyride builds. My setup was candidate-708 and joyride-2301. I have not
removed my /home/olpc/isolation directory IIRC. I was using a certain set
of upgraded activities for 708 and had a set of activities for my joyride.
I switch between the two OS versions frequently, so there is interaction
with my /home/olpc dir. As such, my datastore gets reset and the old
version is moved to datastore12xxxxxx.xx. So I was using joyride-2301 when
i did 'olpc-upgrade 711'. Upon reboot, I tried my 708 activity set. All
seems ok but one: the Web.activity. Its icon started, pulsed and after a
while, quit. After some consultation on #olpc and #sugar with morgs and
erikos, I tried one last thing. I moved /home/olpc/isolation to
/home/olpc/isolation.old. When i started the Web.activity, that fixed the
problem and a new /home/olpc/isolation was created. Attached are the logs
that have the original problem with Web.activity with the problematic
/home/olpc/isolation. The fix seems to be to mv the isolation directory,
but that seem to be extreme as their may be a better solution. Most
deployment or G1G1 users will not be using very different os/app versions
or be switching between 2 os builds.
