Comment:

 removing compreg.dat in my case fixed the inability to accept insecure
 certificates.
 see also #8056

 i received the laptop with build 656, and upgraded to 703 a few days
 later.
 then upgraded to joyride-2240
 accepting such certificates actually never worked since 703. (not tested
 on 656)
 issues may be caused by old stuff from 656 in compreg.dat.
