 I've attached a mockup of the speech device.  The palette contains several
 adjustment controls for some frequently changed parameters, as well as an
 action item.  The action toggles between "Speak selected text" and "Stop
 speaking" (and should use media-playback-start/stop).  While speaking, the
 icon should be rendered in XO colors; while silent, it should be a white
 outline.  Additionally, clicking on the icon itself should invoke the
 default action (eg. start/stop speaking).
