 Technically, an older report cannot be a "duplicate" of a newer one, it's
 the other way around. Also, #7830 deals with general rendering artifacts,
 whereas this bug is about cursor rendering.

 So no, I do not think this is a "dupe" of #7830 (but then, I know little
 about X internals).
