Hi Guys,
I see solution here.
We put a note on the paper that ships with the XO saying send us a letter
and we will give you a URL per #2 below.
I think that would comply with this and cost no engineering time. I don't
think we would lose a physical letter (if we do this you should test it).
The only hard part will be for me to figure out how to change the text on
the hard copy that comes with an XO.
John, can you send me a short sample text that should go in the hardcopy
for this?
That may solve the legal issue but we want to comply with the spirit of it
too. We want to get the source code out! Let's come up with ways to get it
to people who have networks and those that don't. The one idea I have so
far is that we should put a link to the sources in the HTML pages we store
and serve from XOs NAND. No network but have school server cases we could
offer the source on XO. No network and no school server...
I started a page in 9.1.0 section for this:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/9.1.0#Easier_Access_to_and_Help_Using_Source_Code
Add or update as needed. Help me find me one kid or teacher in a target
country who wants to see the source code and I'll move it up to the user
requested section :-)
Thanks,
Greg S
