In joyride 2263, here's what happens on my G1G1 XO:
If you click "Radio off" in the gui control panel, it doesn't actually
turn off the whole WiFi chip, just the radio portion of the chip set.
Thus when you suspend and resume, you will see the LEDs flash for a bit.
If you click "Extreme power management (disables wireless radio)" in the
power portion of the gui control panel, then it turns off both the radio
portion and the whole WiFi chip. When you suspend and resume, no LEDs
blink; it stays dead.
I think the "Radio off" checkbox is a misfeature and should just go away.
It was a stopgap until we could power off the whole WiFi chip. That would
also close this bug by default.
