 homunq, I looked into your patch (thanks) but then I figured it would be
 easier to just take a more general approach and address the problem for
 non-translations files too.

 With the patch I attached the user is warned that some files might be
 missing from the manifest. It's suggested to use the fix_manifest command
 to add them.

 Should be explicitly mention that the .xo has been generated anyway? Or
 will it be clear by the fact that this is a warning?

 It looks like this:
