Replying to [ticket:7828 skierpage]:
> If I need to permanently remove an activity's code, in Build
joyride-2230 hovering on an activity in Home view brings up {name of
activity} with an Erase menu item. But in the Journal, the default for
each "session document" is "Write Activity", "Paint Activity", etc. and
those also have an Erase menu item. One action removes the activity's code
(after a confirmation prompt), the other action just removes a "session
document" without a prompt; from the language alone it's easy to get them
confused.
Actually, we should have confirmation on the removal of Journal entries
too (at least if they aren't backed up). I created a ticket for this:
#7859.
> Scenario: you're told "Erase the Write activity to upgrade/free up
space/it has a virus" and you go into the Journal, find something called
"Write Activity" and erase it.
I believe that "sessions" (Journal entries) currently have "activity"
appended to their name by default, whereas the activity bundles themselves
are simply referred to by name (without "activity"). That is true in Home
as well as the Neighborhood, and the latest versions of the Journal.
> Maybe the answer is to change the Journal's default "session document"
name. I can't find a good synonym for "activity" -- "toil in the Write
Activity"? "Write Activity shenanigans"?
"Instance" may be a better word than "activity" to convey that it's one of
many potential instances. There are already 2 tickets open for improving
activity titles:
* #3225: Need better default activity titles
* #3900: Need support for activity supplied default activity titles
My inclination is to say that the other tickets linked here successfully
address the various concerns you bring up in this ticket. I'll leave this
open and blocked by these, for reference. If you have further concerns
beyond those covered by these tickets, please add them.
