 I just had a look at the XFCE issue. It turns out that it is Xfce's fault
 in this case. I can add a workaround for it.
 I assume that Xfce is specific to the faster branch? Or is it worth to
 have the workaround in 0.8.2?

 You said that you are also seeing a similar issue in other places. Is that
 a menu that belongs to gecko? There may well be some bug in the mozilla
 GTK+ faking code ...
