Comment:

 We don't have enough information available to reproduce this bug so at
 present, we're going to have to settle for including its symptoms in the
 test-plan that Sjoerd is constructing. Sjoerd, please link to the section
 of your test plan inspired by this ticket when you write it.

 Also, at the design level, I am particularly uncomfortable with the fact
 that network services with a history of crashing are being written in a
 memory-unsafe language. Even though I take some comfort from the fact that
 most crashes are assertion failures rather than segfaults, this still
 sounds like an exploit-waiting-to-happen.
