 Let the user do the confirmation step first, to make this chore easier
 less annoying.

 The user choses to do deletion. The cursor changes into a destructive-
 looking tool or similar. (crosshairs, skull and crossbones, Rambo knife,
 chainsaw, ax, etc.) Then it's 1-click deletion, as fast as the user can
 click.

 BTW, if you really want to please the kids, add stereo sound. Be sure it
 doesn't cause any lag though.
