 GDM can autologin. If we can come up with something that it's not too much
 work and is lighter, maybe we should do it, but it's more code that we
 need to maintain.

 Maybe. I'm not fully convinced. I'd rather have the user choose between
 the two desktop at system startup (with a timeout, and remembering the
 last selection). Eben, what do you think?

 It's also less work because we don't have to bother providing a switch
 desktop tool for both sugar and xfce.

 For what it's worth, Fedora went from the switch desktop approach to the
 gdm one (a login is required there though, which change things a bit).
