 The current 1.75mm jack is difficult to find from suppliers and not
 commonly found on most commercial 12V DC power supplies.

 Its made the ease of hookup of alternative power generation sources more
 difficult.

 Gen 2 should use a commonly available Jack such as a 2.5mm.
