 I have an MP XO (X20 in the collab testbed, G1G1 laptop returned for
 unknown reason).  This XO had gone for one and half weeks since an update
 to build 703/Q2D14 with either Line power or Battery inserted (no EC reset
 in that period).  It was last turned off on 4/14, and left connected to AC
 power.

 Power tools were operating in the building, and line power was likely
 interrupted during this time.

 On 4/17, a USB stick was plugged into the laptop, then the power button
 was pressed.  Nothing happened.

 The power button was pressed, and held for over five seconds.  Nothing
 happened.

 The unit was disconnected from AC power.  The Battery charge LED stayed
 green!

 Removing the USB stick and pressing the power button a few times had no
 effect.

 Removing the battery (while no DC power was supplied --- resetting the EC)
 cleared the condition.
