 Exactly; we *must* be getting back garbage from OFW to make it longer than
 10 bytes (hence the reason I wanted to see what /ofw/model contained).

 Now, if it was just that, I would assume the call_firmware pointer was
 just screwed up.  However,  given that EC communication is screwed up as
 well (and that doesn't use call_firmware, that pokes  directly at
 registers), I'm at a loss as to what's going on.
