This would be #3715. We're already down at 3 dynamically loaded modules:
extmod
freetype
evdev
Most of the extensions we want to get rid of are embedded within extmod.

We could load the precompiled keymap and call xkbcomp only when the
settings change. The olpc-configure script would be a good place to do
that.
When we switch to X 1.4, the hardcoded configuration in xorg.conf will
have to go away. We could set the xkb options from within .xinitrc or even
sugar.
