 Well, I've mostly ignored this part of the design until now, and it serves
 no purpose without proper memory consumption indication in the ring.  The
 idea was to show an activity "wedge" in the ring on rollover to indicate
 the result of instantiating it, to reveal how much of the ring it would
 consume, and most importantly, to indicate when there isn't enough memory
 remaining to launch it at all.

 Note that this also requires activities to provide an estimated memory
 usage in their .info file so we know about how much they will take before
 instantiating them.  We can, of course, use this a base but keep a
 weighted average of the true memory usage across actual sessions of that
 activity to get more accurate numbers.

 This is not 1.0, and probably not 1.1 either.
