 Gnash supports a $HOME/.gnashrc preferences file, in which you can
 "set StartStopped yes". This makes Gnash not start in the web playing a
 flash movie in the  web browser unless you use the right click menu item.
 There is discussion to improve this by adding a widget to signify the
 paused flash movie, for now you just get a black box.

 only Gnash does very little but wait for mouse events.
