Comment:
Alex, I tested this a bit and I don't believe the period is an issue. It's
just the end of the title. I tested 606 with the latest W&L tonight. I
think the framework is now working. Totem, Sugar mime types, W&L. That's a
good step forward.
The work which is left to do is to refine the mime associations for every
format, the defaults etc. To be able to do that we need to do very
systematic testing. As a start I suggest a couple of simple testing
strategies (I'd say to perform the test with the latest image + the
optional W&L bundle installed):
1. Put together a small suite of multimedia files. Even just ten files of
misc formats could be a start. Put them on a clean usb stick. Open them
one by one from the journal. Open a ticket for each file that doesn't work
describing the exact steps to reproduce it. Make the file available for
download somewhere. There is a small content suite for the Helix player
here: https://helixcommunity.org/projects/player/files/download/1090
2. Download random multimedia files from the web. Open them using the
clipboard, the journal or just the web activity in the plugin case. Open a
ticket for each problematic file, with the exact steps to reproduce the
problem and the URL to the file.
I'm closing this bug as invalid because I can't do much about it without
more detailed informations. Please ping me in irc if you want to discuss
how to test these issues. Thanks!
