Comment:

 After reading bert's comment, I have tried Etoys.  Attempting to open a
 Speex file there rendered a message similar to: "unknown file type. I
 don't know how to play it".  That error message is not 100% accurate, as I
 did not memorize it or jolt it down.  Still, it seems Etoys is unable to
 work with Speex as of Build 598.
