#3781: Journal's instability of time is very disorienting

Build 602.
When Activities are resumed, they get new timestamps and a new position in
the Journal. This instability of time/ordering is very disorienting.
For example, when you go searching for something, you destroy information
as you go. Looking for particular content, you resume and resume and
resume. Each resume rips the activity out of it's context. Instead of
"this is something I created early in the month", or even "this is
something I edited last week", you are left with only "this is one of many
things glanced at, while searching for something entirely different, on
Tuesday".
Perhaps old occurrences of an object could remain listed in the Journal?
