 When no results are returned for a particular query, the user is presented
 with a completely white screen (minus the toolbar).  I think this could be
 somewhat disorienting, especially if interpreted as a crash.

 We should come up with some visual indication of the empty set of results
 that looks less like a blank screen.  Christian, Takaaki, any ideas?
