 Speex files are very important as they provide small files for voice.
 These can be used for audio lessons, audiobooks and many other useful
 applications.  The command line program seems to be installed by default
 but is not working.  Also the browser plugin doesn't play them which is a
 shame as I have converted many public domains to this format (around
 3-3.5MB's per hour).

 About Speex: Speex is an Open Source/Free Software  patent-free audio
 compression format designed for speech http://speex.org/
