 1. Select a font color other than black
  2. Create a textbox
  3. Type some text
  4. Select a drawing tool, for instance the paintbrush
  5. Paint a stroke

 You'll see that the text which hadn't been "committed" does in fact become
 so implicitly, which is good.  However, that text is in black, instead of
 the currently selected font color as it should be.
