 That error is not a problem.

 The logs are enabled, but the log level is too low. It doesn't print
 debugging messages there. From that wiki page, these lines should fix
 that:

 Edit the /home/olpc/.xinitrc file to uncomment the line source
 .sugar.debug

 Edit the /home/olpc/.sugar.debug to include export
 SUGAR_LOGGER_LEVEL=debug

 Restart X with ctrl-alt-backspace and the logging level should be
 increased
