Comment:

 I assume that at the origin of this request is that you are looking for a
 simple way for xo's to find out which channels have mesh portals.

 If so, adding that information to beacons will not work.  Beacons are not
 propagated throughout the entire mesh, so adding that information to the
 school server beacon (aka MPP) is not sufficient to inform all the nodes.
 Only nodes that are 1 hop away from the MPP would be informed.

 The anycast address is the recommended approach:  the xo should try to
 talk to the MPP's anycast address on each channel.  This has the advantage
 that in the scenario where there are multiple channels with MPPs the xo
 would know which channel has the closest MPP (lowest metric).
