 Gtk owns a reference on the gtk.Window, so we have to be explicitly
 destroy it. When a widget that supports palettes is destroyed it should
 call destroy() on his Palette.

 Unfortunately destroy signals with pygobject 2.12 are not completely
 reliable:

 I'm not sure even sure if it's a just a problem with the signal or the
 widgets are actually leaked. If they are it might be worth considering to
 upgrade to 2.14.
