 In fact, the same interoperability problem comes up with USB: it is
 important to be able to take a USB key and plug it into a Windows, Mac  or
 conventional Linux system and retrieve files from it.

 So think of the problem as being shared between the school server and USB.

 The web page approach can be used for both (though we don't have to
 implement them both at the same instant).
