 Any control with a long list (pop-ups, drop-downs, etc.) should use type-
 ahead to jump to the first item in the list whose prefix matches the typed
 characters.  Eg. Typing "Mas" would select "Massachusetts" in a list of
 states.

 John says this is available for all GTK controls, so I'm CC'ing him to
 provide more info.
