 Now I see it.

 Well, this is very likely a bug in trapezoid rasterizing in the a8 masks.
 All this code has been completely replaced by libpixman in the xserver
 1.4.

 So my suggestion is: ignore the bug for Trial3, and let's test again after
 upgrading to  X1.4.

 If anyone wants to test now, there's a posting of mine on devel@ with
 subject "Please test Xorg 1.4" explaining how to do it.
