 So on machine one the bug i described yesterday was the following:

 I had 581 running and firmware Q2C25. I upgraded the image to 588. The
 firmware was not upgraded. I did tests on the mesh view. The cursor was
 jumping wild to all the edges. Actually i had the 'strange cursor problem'
 on this machine a few weeks ago but it went away and was more like bernie
 describes in dev.laptop.org/ticket/2804#comment:19, though i never tested
 the procedure since it went away. I booted this machine this morning and
 it is all fine - the behavior went away without changing firmware or
 image.
