 I've just read it.  If I understand correctly, every time we switch to PT
 mode, we compute:

   initial_offset = pt_position - cursor_position

 And then, on each event we move the cursor like so:

   cursor_position = pt_position - initial_offset

 I would agree this will make the tabled a lot more usable, with no sudden
 bounces.

 One problem is that we don't want this logic to kick in also when one
 raises the stylus for a short time, to move to the next letter or word.

 I'm afraid not.
